KYOTONEは
「KYOTO」と「TONE」を重ねた名前です。

石畳を歩く音、町家から漏れる灯り
祭りの日の熱気、ことばの間合い。

京都には、観光名所の情報だけでは伝えきれない
独特の空気があります。

そんな京都の“トーン”を
京都人の目線と言葉で届けたい。

その思いを込めて、KYOTONEと名付けました。

KYOTONE is a name created by bringing together “KYOTO” and “TONE.”

The sound of footsteps on stone-paved streets, the glow spilling from traditional townhouses, the energy of festival days, and even the pauses within conversation.
Kyoto has a distinct atmosphere that cannot be captured by sightseeing information alone.

Through the eyes and words of someone born and raised in Kyoto, I hope to share that unique “tone” of the city.
That is the idea behind the name KYOTONE.

京都生まれ、京都育ちのこのかです。

大学卒業後は客室乗務員として国内外を飛び
多くの国や地域を訪れました。

広い世界を見たからこそ、京都という街が持つ文化の奥深さや美しさ、
そして日々の暮らしに息づく魅力を
あらためて実感するようになりました。

その後は、京都・先斗町のお茶屋で働き
何百年も受け継がれてきた京都ならではのおもてなしや美意識
ことば遣いに触れる貴重な経験をしました。

京都で生まれ育ち
自然と身についた感性や価値観。

世界を見た経験と
京都文化の現場で過ごした時間。

そのすべてが
今の私の「京都人としての視点」を形づくっています。

観光ガイドだけでは伝わらない京都の空気や文化を
京都人だからこそ感じられる目線で届けたい。

そんな思いで、KYOTONEを書いています。

I was born and raised in Kyoto.

After graduating from university, I worked as a flight attendant, traveling throughout Japan and around the world. Seeing different cultures and ways of life helped me appreciate the quiet beauty, rich traditions, and everyday charm of Kyoto even more.

Later, I worked at a traditional ochaya in Kyoto’s Pontocho district, where I experienced the refined hospitality, aesthetics, and customs that have been passed down through generations. (An ochaya is an exclusive venue where geiko and maiko entertain guests through traditional arts.)

Growing up in Kyoto, exploring the world, and working in the heart of Kyoto’s traditional culture have all shaped the way I see this city.

Through KYOTONE, I hope to share Kyoto from a local’s perspective—not just its famous sights, but also the atmosphere, culture, and small details that make it truly special.
